Jeremiah 17:9

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds."
Jeremiah 17:9-10

Has your heart ever lied to you?

That moment of sin in which you believed that this sin would be pleasant; when you tasted its fruit however, death.

The time you lusted, longingly after the touch of an adulteress; the thrill of another's prize; the praise of the crowd around you: when it finally is yours the object you pull so closely is a firebrand.

The time you served the homeless, caressed a distraught child, helped an old lady to cross the street: ARGH! but sin bit you on your heal as you thought about how great it is you did that.

Only the wisest know; only the discerning can tell; only those close to Christ will be able to mark the deceitfulness of their own heart. And only those who are walking closely to the Spirit will then be able, by the grace of Almighty God, to do something about it.

Praise You Father for saving my soul.
Praise You Son for working in my heart.
Praise You Spirit for renewing my mind.

Your brother in Christ,
Pastor Greg
